Kindle Paperwhite for Family Travel
When we travel, we love reading! Imagine going on a long family trip, you pack 1 to 2 books along, but then the “reading bug” gets you and you run out of books. Especially, when you travel abroad or travel carry-on, the weight of the books becomes an issue. So, what is there to do? You donate the books to the local community and try to go to a local book store, to pick up a few more books.
I will tell you that books take a lot of room and are heavy! Our family loves to explore the world and read books. For an efficient way to engage in reading we found a new way. We got Kindle Paperweights for us and we load a lot of books from the local library prior to the trip. What’s the bonus? Well, first, the weight of the books does not affect the weight of your suitcase. You can pack gigabytes of books, just imagine the choices! And… because it’s borrowed from the library, it’s literally free.
Ok, so what did we get. We went with the Kindle Paperwhite device bundle. It is waterproof (good for the beach), WIFI enabled (can load more books if necessary with ease) and comes with a cover.
The cover comes with multiple colors.
Also, for this model you do have a choice of 8 and 16 GB version. We decided to go with 16GB in case girls would like to load some audio books on it.
For myself I wanted to get a leather cover, so there is a separate bundle that comes with different color covers.
I think it’s beneficial to invest in a cover for the Kindle, to prevent scratches and any possible damage to the device.
If you are not looking for a bundle, then you can invest just a Kindle Paperwhite device. It will be cheaper because it comes without cover and a plug (charging cable is included).
