Greece Family Vacation

Traveling Trio Family exploring Athens, Greece
Traveling Trio Family exploring Athens, Greece

Our Itinerary

These were the items on our to-do list for Athens:

– Parthenon

– Acropolis of Athens

– Temple of Zeus

– Monastiraki Square

– Visit Greek isle(s)

– Swim in Saronic Gulf

– Visit Lake Vouliagmeni (once in a lifetime experience)

We did buy the city pass, so we literally did visit each famous ruin in the city. In the hindsight, we probably could have spent less days in Athens, instead maybe did a Greek isles cruise to cover more of the Greek Isles.

Our Favorite Shopping

Traveling Trio Family really enjoyed strolling the Monastiraki Square. There are many stores with hand-made merchandise.

Additionally, check out Stradivarius store, lots of teen fashion that we adored.

Greek salad with Feta, Athens, Greece

Favorite Meals

Greek salad was our daily staple.

Try seafood, it’s really fresh and delicious!

Most Favorite Experience

If you do have a chance, do visit Vouliagmeni Lake. It’s a warm lake filled with little fish that eats away your dead skin. Although it sounds not pleasant and initially Traveling Trio teens were cautious, we really enjoyed the experience, and it was a “competition” on who can get more fish.

Family Photo Highlights of Athens

Every Day Items we took on the trip that we would recommend

Awesome little bag by Kipling! There are multitude of colors, it’s lightweight, it will fit a small water bottle and it is a cross body bag, that you can put your hand over in the areas where pick pocketers are prevalent.

You need a hat for Greece. The sun feels really strong and bucket hat provides essential cover for your head and your face. Bring one along so you can have it handy when you go sightseeing!

A trusty selfie stick with remote for all those family pictures you will take! This 40-inch extendible selfie stick that also can work as a tripod is an absolute essential!
